3 Ways to Wear the Maxi Dress (in the Summer).

Casual: with a crop top or t-shirt.
[H&M dress // American Apparel crop top // Matt & Nat purse // Aldo sandals (last year) // gifted necklace]
Semi-casual: with a vest (I belted mine and added a vintage broach for extra polish).
[H&M dress, F21 vest (old) // Xcetera (?) belt // Anthropologie clutch // Aldo heels (old) //Vintage broach]
Dressy: Belted with a blazer.
[H&M skirt // F21 blazer (old) // vintage belt, shoes, and Coach bag (whoa!)]

I tried to use items of clothing that I usually don't get to wear so much  for this "3 Ways to Wear." Most of the items that regularly appear on my body I've taken to Europe (but I'm back today!), and so you'll be seeing a lot of them in the near future. However, I'm really not all that happy with these outfits or the photos of them. I did them in such a rush and without the planning that I usually do, and now I don't have time to go back an re-do any. Shucks. Anyway, hopefully this will have to do for now! (Can you tell I'm a hugggeee perfectionist?) xo Caroline

3 Ways to Wear the White T-Shirt.

Casual: with denim, a pair of heels, a clutch, and vintage rhinestones.
[Thrifted Gap jeans // Aldo heels // American Apparel Unisex T-shirt // Danier clutch // Vintage necklace]
Semi-casual: with sateen white cut-offs and a pair of vintage sandals
[American Apparel T // Banana Republic cut-offs // Vintage necklace // Vintage heels from this store]
Dressy: Knotted with a dress, a gold cuff, and flats.
[ASOS dress // H&M T-shirt // Aldo flats // ASOS cuff]

I finally got around to doing this post! A couple of people mentioned they wanted to see three ways to wear a white t-shirt, which is probably one of my favourite items of clothing. I wear white t-shirts ALL of the time. There multiple ways you could wear a white t-shirt, this only three looks! However, you could change up the first look with denim shorts or a skirt, pair it with flats, and a messenger bag to make it even more casual. You could change up the second look with white shorts, pants, or a skirt and you could change up the third look with a skirt and some heels to make a bit dressier. Anyway, hope this was helpful! xo Caroline

Well hello there! I'm very excited about this post. This is the happiest I've been about the photos (the last two, here and here, weren't the best). I bought this skirt on sale the other day at Pseudo, a Nova Scotia-based clothing store. I've been looking for a skirt like this for some time and am very happy with it. It can be paired with anything and will take me from season to season. Like usual, I was inspired by Andy at Style Scrapbook, this look in particular. I realize I'm only one body-type of many, so how would you style this?

On another note: I've been really stuck on something. I'm a huge blog fan, especially fashion and lifestyle blogs. I love these blogs. But I'm also a huge feminist and I'm sometimes bothered by some fashion blogs. Although I appreciate and enjoy them so much, I also question their romanticization of fashion and the blogger's fashion lives. I mean, a lot of them focus solely on buying clothes, wearing clothes, going to fashion-related shows and events (especially now given it's fashion week or whatever), and hanging out with "besties" all dressed up. Okay, like, whaaa?? Don't get me wrong: I love following these blogs. I love the people who dedicate their time to writing them. But I don't live a life of Alexander Wang and Starbucks. I know life is about more than that (I'm sure they do, too). And I want to see that! What do you think?

3 Ways to Wear the Crew Neck Sweater.

Casual: with a button-up underneath
Semi-casual: with a long shirt underneath
Dressy: with a high-waisted skirt (or pants)
Finally! A new "Three Ways I Wear"! I've been meaning to do this for a while, so I'm glad I had the chance to on Sunday. I'm not really very fond of these shots, mostly because of the hideous background. But there's really not many places at all to take photos in my apartment. Either way, I hope you enjoy them and potentially find them at least a little bit insightful?
One of my favorite hobbies is pairing items of clothing together. I used to do it on my Barbies, then on myself. I wanted to be a stylist when I was about 14 or 15, before that a fashion designer. I remember asking my Mom if dressing mannequins was a job. Is it? How fun would that be! I've always loved jewelry, too, especially making it. Don't really do much of that now, but boy, do I love buying it!!

I was wearing:

Zara Sweater
Twik Blouse

H&M Pants
Browns ID shoes
Pashmina Scarf

3 Ways to Wear the Boyfriend Blouse.

I

Please excuse the fuzziness of these photos, my camera does not like indoor photography (and I hate the flash). A few people have commented on my ability to wear one item of clothing several different ways, so I decided to take up Katherine's idea to do a post on three different ways one item can be worn. I used the "boyfriend shirt" because it is a go-to in my closet. The first outfit is a casual one, something I'd wear to the movies, or for a quick bite to eat. The second one is also casual, but perhaps a bit less so than the first one. The final one is my favorite, it's something I'd wear to a special event, or potentially to work (if I'm in the mood ;).

I hope to at some point in the near future feature different outfits with different (or perhaps the same?) key pieces, and some for different body types. Obviously I have one body type but I realize that not everyone has the same shape I do.

Oh, and happy Friday! I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Mine won't be too eventful with work tonight and Sunday, and school work and errands on Saturday.

Oh, and I recommend that everyone watch Café de Flore, it's AMAZING!!

I was wearing:

Purse from a craft fair!!

3rd outfit:
